The Big Guy at 8 Weeks Old

David went to the doctor for his second check-up today, which included his first set of shots and a weigh-in. It seems hard to comprehend but he has almost doubled his birth weight already - in just under 8 weeks! He is now a whopping 10 pounds, 10 ounces! For the metric types (like me!) that is 4.81 kgs. We are both very pleased with his progress, as was the doctor. Mommy's milk is great!

And even though he was not at all happy about having two needles, he was very brave and cried very little.

Fun and Games

Today was the first time that I felt sure that David was imitating my facial gestures. Very exciting! We laughed and smiled and had fun imitating each other for a while. Later in the day, he opened and closed his mouth as he watched me eat a banana.

Tomorrow we get weighed at the pediatrician's office. We think David must be over 9 pounds by now. He's had a growth spurt in the past two weeks and has suddenly outgrown his newborn clothes. He's getting big before our eyes!
