David and Musashi

David started being interested in our dog, Musashi, at about 5 months of age. He almost always has a smile for Musashi and, now that he is mobile (!), he is often trying to get near Musashi to touch him. We're teaching him to pat gently and not to pull fur. So far, so good. Musashi generally gets a little nervous during the petting but he manages to stay still. It has been hard for him to adjust to our attention being diverted to the baby, but he's been great.

One perk for Musashi is that the baby drops all kinds of goodies on the floor - accidentally and intentionally. Recently, he has tried to share his food with the dog, as in this photo.
