Almost five months old already!

Mom here. I haven't posted in a while so this may be a long one. It's just unbelievable how much David has changed and grown in such a short time. His area of greatest development continues to be his voice. At this very moment, I can hear him in his crib making a series of tired-sounding noises ("aaaah... agghhhh...") which means he may just go back to sleep himself -- a skill that we very much hope he will master soon. The latest addition to his repertoire of vocalizations is a fake cough. He's also been smacking his lips together and pursing them together to make a buzzing sound.

OK, he didn't go back to sleep by himself just now. He needed a bit of soothing from Mom.

Now that the winter has ended we have been getting out more. I love watching David's reactions to things and especially seeing him interact with other people. He almost always smiles at people (unless he is very tired or was just awakened) and especially loves seeing other babies. People always comment on his beautiful eyes, the neat shape of his eyes and his (still toothless) smile.

Today, we had a lovely family day with a long morning nap together, a walk in the park and David's first trip to Home Depot. David was pretty cheerful almost all day and even went to bed without too much fussiness. Life is good.
